About Uncle Ernie's Effects
Uncle Ernie in the Flesh
Uncle Ernie's Effects
Uncle Ernie's is a small upstart that as yet is fledgling.  First we studied
what fellow Boutique Pedal makers are doing.  They tend to understand
the real needs of musicians.  Then we looked at what over time "Hit the
Wall and Stuck" to determine what musicians like most.  Then we began
designing pedals that are useful, sound great, flexible,  look great, and
will attract attention based on that research. We only build with top notch
parts and We back our work.  There's no reason a well built pedal won't
go years with proper handling.  Some will ask, are these Clones?  The
answer is yes in the sense that all distortion pedals are so similar they
are all clones to some degree.  We have taken proven designs that have
sold untold units and made changes here and there to address personal
taste as well as customer feedback.  YOU MUST BE HAPPY or we're
shot.  We can't compete with mass produced Chinese pedals and won't
try.  We are confident UEE pedals will last longer, take more abuse and
sound better than these cheap products.

We also do repairs, modifications, and custom builds on electric guitars,
effects, and amps.  We will research and build any pedal design within
reason and for a very reasonable price as this helps Uncle Ernie's grow.
We'll help flesh out ideas or point you toward someone who may be more
able to help.  We'd rather you be happy and think of us next time.  We're
sick of the saying "the customer's always right" and the company tags on
"as long as we agree".  That's what Uncle Ernie's IS NOT!
Why Uncle Ernie's?
We've been asked why we named this adventure Uncle Ernie's.  This is
from the founder, Tim Wagoner.  "For as long as I can remember I've
always loved chaos, not that I'm chaotic.  I just love to see the effect that
uncontrollable circumstances have on people.  It's amazing how much
people freak when the power goes out.   I also like how people react to
strange or wild people.  Don't get me wrong I don't like to see people get
ruined, just *ucked with.  The more something turns people's heads the
more I like it.  This is especially true for me in entertainment."

Okay, in the rock world there's only one guy who captures naturally pure
insanity, Keith Moon.  And his most notorious character would be Uncle
Ernie from Tommy.  Also, there's more.  He's also known as one of rocks
greatest drummers even though he didn't really know what he was
doing.  "I can relate to this feeling on a regular basis even though I
realize I have a firm grasp on everything I do, anal and perfectionist go
together well.  I can relate to Keith even though I'll never have the honor
of meeting him."
Keith Moon as Uncle Ernie
When I was about 6 my brother started playing Bass.  His band was the
TOYS, likely named after the song Toys in the Attic.  Well, what kid
wouldn't want to be like his older brother?  So about a year later Dad
bought my first guitar at Sears.  I still have it!  A couple years after that
he bought me a drum set.  I beat those drums for years much to my
mothers despair until the ride tom fell off.  Then Terry, my brother,
helped me trade it for a Les Paul copy.  I was about 15.  A couple years
after that I managed to get Tim Richardson, ex Toys guitar player, to sell
me his Big Muff Pi, an Echo-Flanger and his Twin Reverb.  That was my
first real amp and I'd advanced to a real Les Paul also.  This was the
beginning of the tone quest.

After high school I wasted a couple years thinking I could do something
without a degree and then decided to go to Vincennes University.  I was
in the guitar program and my teacher and mentor was Dave Parman.  He
was with John Cougar during the formative years.  Dave has had a
profound effect on my life and musical career, what of it I've had.

After Vincennes I joined the National Guard, during Desert Storm of all
times.  I still hadn't figured out that music don't pay but for a very select
few.  I used my G.I. Bill to go to Ivy Tech and study Electronics, music and
electronics, something's got to hit.  I made my first two pedals then, a
reverse engineered Big Muff and a PiAi Sustain pedal.

The thing that needs mentioned here is my lovely wife, Lisa.  We met
when I was going to Ivy Tech and working at Wendy's.  She has made all
this possible and has been behind me from the start.  Thank You, Lisa.
F.Y.I. We were married by Dave Parman in 1998.  Cool to be married by
a ROCK STAR!  She recently received her Masters and found a good job
that caused us to move here, Warren, Ohio.  I knew going in that this
town has no real jobs unless you move here already hired.  This created
the opportunity to start Uncle Ernie's.  I still play part-time in the Tim
Harrington Band and I'm working on something local.  We've also had our
first child, Alex.  Enough about me.
